busy sunday

Weekend recap:

Saturday was busy with a last minute client visit and paperwork.
Had a fun dinner with D at Nomnomnom. Loved the enchilada :) Tried the Malinomnom pizza. Unique take on pizza.

Spent Sunday with D after my tutor session. I showed my tutees the first episode of Lucky Star. They seemed to enjoy it :) Had lunch and played the dice game with D's family at Century. Did some shopping afterwards. I saw the book featured in Despicable Me! :D The three kittens book :) Adorable! Found a Japanese language dictionary at Fully Booked. It'll be nice for the kids to use. Had dinner at Banana Leaf :) Nasi goreng - yum! :)

I got a freebie at Clinique after stocking up on beauty products. Trying out a new category of moisturizing lotion. Got myself an exfoliating cream and foaming scrub as well. I might try the new black cleanser by Pond's. Seems like a good product :)

I'll switch to Shiseido for a while after I finish the last of my current cream. Just to see if it'll be better for my skin.

Shishi 2010

Got back from China last night.
Flight was delayed an hour :|

It was a memorable 4-day trip. Equal parts tiring and enjoyable :)

This trip only reaffirmed that my grandmother is still awesome at 83.
She's a superb writer and speaker. Hands down. I can only dream to be like her.

It was also being able to bond with the cousins :) We went to Ama's house, SM JinJiang, Walmart, and just ate and talked and had fun :)

:(

D's sick. I hope he gets better soon.

Packing for China. I want to use the floral scarf I got from Promod. Smells of spring~ Is China cool enough yet, I wonder.

Loving Wang Lee Hom's new album. Super nice.

I should get some sleep. I'm losing the pimple war :(

I hope D gets better soon :(

Miwa - Change

My current song list includes this song :)
I've been looking for nice Japanese songs to share with my students.

despicable me

this is how my sunday went:

8:30 am. Woke up with a start as I realized I'd be late for my 9am tutor session. Luckily, shobe still had voice lessons when I got there at 9:20ish so we started around 9:30. We talked about bath tubs (o-furo) and how to tell locations :)

Joined D's family for lunch at Inagiku. Had a paparazzi moment when I saw Ruffa Gutierrez and Bea Alonzo. Bea's so pretty up close, very mestiza :)

Headed home after lunch so that D could fix the Bingo program he made for me to use in my Japanese class. I did some prep work for my classes next week too.

Afterwards, off to Trinoma we went to watch Despicable Me! I loved this movie :) The three girls - Margo, Edith, and Agnes - were such lovable characters. I especially loved the storytelling scene with the three kittens. And I love how the girls' bedroom turned out with the rocket shell beds and curtain canopies :) The movie was full of laughs and sweet moments. Winner :)

Had dinner with Ni and Howell at Cafe Breton afterwards. They watched Going the Distance, which was a good movie accd. to them. They could relate to the long distance scenario :P I'll probably check the movie out if I have time. I like Drew Barrymore :)

Had a minor panic attack when I couldn't find a photocopying service. Being the rational one, D managed to help me find one. I need to be less panic-prone :| Esp, when things don't go according to plan. I tend to be a routine-dependent worrywart.

p.s. i love you

Cry fest! Just watched P.S. I Love You on dvd. It's a sweet, sentimental, sappy story of love, life, and moving on. Nini and I first watched this movie at Galleria before. We watched the last full show as we were staying overnight at the next door Holiday Inn. I remember falling in love with Ireland all over again because of this movie. I've never been there but my fascination with Ireland began as a kid when I watched shows about leprechauns and castles. And I love the Irish lilt and Celtic music :)

Tutor session went nicely today. The kids got excited seeing Disneyland on the subway map. Lesson for today was asking how to do something. Gave them giant Pocky sticks which Ahia loved and Shobe not too much.

Had dinner with D at Italianni's where we feasted on salad and pasta and capped it off with citrusy tiramisu. Delish! :) Headed off to Banapple afterwards. Ran into Cha at Rustan's supermarket and Cristina at Banapple. Got a slice of warm shoofly pecan pie (Love!) and some muffins (Verdict to follow). The place was crowded. Haven't tried their other cakes aside from the banoffee pie and shoofly pie. Anyone have surefire favorites?

Should head off to bed now. I hope I dream of Ireland~

Suki's love for Yakult

My violin lessons have resumed after almost a year's hiatus.
My arms and fingers ached but I thoroughly enjoyed my session today.
Practiced my old pieces and tried playing Gavotte in its slow version.
I missed playing the violin :)

It's been raining non stop these days. Interspersed showers throughout the day. The weather makes me feel sluggish.

Had a funny episode with Suki the other day. We discovered that she likes to eat mooncake yolks! :) And she drinks Yakult! She drank the last few drops from Nini's Yakult bottle, licking the outer rims. She seemed to want more so Dad split one with her, pouring half of the Yakult into Suki's saucer. It was fun discovering Suki's "worldly" tastes in food :D

I've been bringing my camera around these past few weeks. I find it easier to capture memories with photos.
